Multi-Discipline

At Huronia Hand Gun Club we pride ourselves on being a multi discipline club and embracing all aspects of the shooting sports. However the range is located near several new subdivisions that did not exist when the Club was built. With this in mind we have restrictions on some kinds of firearms and shooting activities to control the sounds emanating from the club. for a detailed list of events and official disciplines click here.

Action Shooting

The Huronia Handgun Club offers a facility that is capable of supporting occasional matches and periodic practice for a wide variety of “action” shooting sports.

Cowboy Action, PPC, IDPA, IPSC, ICORE, Metallic Silhouette and other action events may be shot at our range. Needless to say anyone participating in these events must be certified by the governing organization or under the immediate instruction of a certified member in order to participate in these activities. Please contact the club regarding upcoming matches or any action sport you may wish to shoot on the range.

High Powered Rifle Shooting

High powered rifled shooting is available to members who have completed the high powered rifle course. Some older members have grandfathered hi Power Rifle Privileges. Members with such privileges are restricted to 20 shots per day. From 1pm to 5pm.

Shotgun Shooting

We are no longer accepting New Members for Shotgun shooting. Some older members have Grandfathered Shotgun privileges. Members with such privileges are restricted to 20 shots per day. From 1pm to 5pm. We do not shoot trap or skeet.

Precision Rimfire Series

We hold monthly Outlaw Rimfire Precision Series matches at our club. Outlaw Precision Rimfire Series (ORPS) is one of the fastest growing club level shooting sports in Canada. Participants use a 22LR Rifle to shoot steel plates at ranges from 25 yards to 100 yards. Targets can range in size fro 6″ in diameter all the way down to 1\4″. This challenging and rewarding discipline is available to all each month at the Huronia Handgun Club.

Hand Gun Shooting

Currently Most types of commonly available hand guns are shot at the Club. However we do have restrictions on some more exotic hand guns. Hand guns that use hi power rifle cartridges like .223 or 7.62×39 are considered Hi Powered rifles.

Black Powder Shooting

Black powder rifles, revolvers and shotguns are also welcome.

Archery

Those wishing to pursue the archery sports may do so; as long as their use does not interfere with the clubs regular use of firearms (especially handguns).

Fun Shoot

Once a month, the club tries to host a fun shoot. Usually staged on a Saturday these events are open to all club members and guests. A variety of different themes are employed and a BBQ lunch along with raffle prizes is usually included.

We also sponsor an annual Meet & Greet that is open to the public.

Junior shooters are always welcome!
