IPSC

International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC)

IPSC is an International action shooting sport founded in 1976. Power is a requirement in IPSC competition , along with speed and accuracy. Both minor and major powered handguns including revolvers are used. Often times extensively modified firearms, hand loaded ammunition and speed-draw holsters are employed. Equipment matters to the best shooters looking for the top speed & accuracy scores. However, anyone can get into the sport at the beginner level as different Divisions allow for basic entry, stock production guns. Most targets are either cardboard or steel plate. Magazine capacities are limited to 10 and at least 6 -8 extra mags and mag holders are required. All shooters interested in this action shooting sport must complete a New Shooter Orientation Course consisting of several hundred rounds as well as a first time classifier match.
